Vicken Parson British artist Vicken Parson’s (b. 1957) paintings engage with space, light, architectural interiors and landscapes. Inspired by personal architectural experiences the paintings derive from memory and sensation rather than direct observation. In a palette dominated by grey, white, black and blue pigment Parson takes us through narrow and wide passages and corners us up in curious spaces. Humans are absent in Parsons architectural works, but at the same time Parson creates a material feeling, which leaves a sense of being present in the internal spaces.
Vicken Parson visited the workshop in 2009 and made five lithographs. All of the lithographs were carried out with great attention to color, form and proportions. The architectural motives were furthermore stimulated by Parson’s choice of paper in different tones. |
