Antony Gormley

Antony Gormley recently did his first lithograph project ever
at our workshop in Copenhagen.
This was published in a collaboration between
Edition Copenhagen and World House Editions.

Having worked in the past in etching, aquatint and woodcut,
we were sure that the massive lithography stones at
Edition Copenhagen’s workshop would challenge Antony.
His bond with the medium was instantaneous and he
responded well to the stones’ unique surface and mass.

Inspired to use unorthodox methods and materials in the
print process, as he does in his drawings, Antony utilized
deodorant roller balls inserted into adapted water bottles
to execute the ”Clearing” prints, linseed oil as a color and
his own body as a template for the
”Bodies in Space” works, his largest graphics to date.

It is our pleasure to invite you to the Opening
on Friday the 28th of March 17-19,00.

A book about the project, with text by Poul Erik Tøjner
director Louisiana, Museum of Modern Art, Humlebæk
has been published for the exhibition.

Antony Gormley will attend the opening in Copenhagen.
