Carla Arocha (b. 1961) is of Venezuelan origin, but lives and works in Antwerp in Belgium. She works within an abstract universe of geometric forms. In her drawings and sculptures she turns design and fashion elements into artistic ornaments. She experiments with optic minimalism and creates gentle patterns of colour and repetition. She is influenced by the constructivist tradition, but has her own poetic style.
